1. The first is that microfiber is an incredible material that’s made up of thousands of tiny strands of nylon and polyester and are woven in such a way as to increase the water absorbency of the towel. What this means is that the towel will hold 5 times as much water as a normal cotton towel and probably more like 10 times more water than an old hand-me-down dog towel. So right off the bat you’re going to be able to dry any dog of any size easily. There’s nothing worse than trying to dry off your dog with wet towel. I know that when we go to the lake my dogs love to jump in and out and they need drying constantly (we let them in the house with us…and they’re very impatient so we can’t just leave them outside). Having a large super absorbant dog towel makes it easier to keep drying them off without having to chase down another towel time after time.

2. The second reason that you need a microfiber dog towel is that they will dry faster. The capillary action of microfiber towels actually dry faster by pulling the water into the towel faster. So not only does it dry more but it does it faster. I don’t know how your dogs are, but mine like to fight me when I try to dry them off. My one dog particularly hates it when I’m trying to dry his feet. So the less time I have to battle with the dog while I’m trying to dry him off the better.

3. Microfiber towels are incredibly easy to take care of. They work just like normal towels, all you have to do is throw them into the wash with a load of towels, or anything for that matter, and you can throw them into the dryer too. The only thing you need to be aware of is that microfiber towels will absorb fabric softener so you don’t want to use any of that or the dryer sheets as it will ruin them over time.

One of the most important things to know when buying microfiber towels, is that the price is usually the best indicator of quality. Because the nylon fiber strands cost more, some manufacturers choose to use less of them which ends up making the towel less absorbent. So even the towel is cheaper, it tends to be lower quality which in many cases winds up just being frustrating when trying to use it to dry the dog off (my hands get bitten more).
